I got the jars because I wanted to be able to take fresh juices to work. I may also attempt some "freezer canning" and, maybe eventually, so real canning. The jars are consistent with my desire to "wash and reuse" rather than throw away. I am also sick of plastic containers that never seem quite clean.

These jars are very nice, and especially nice for gifts. I also like to keep my home-dehydrated herbs in them.

I use these jars for jams and jellies; the quilted pattern is beautiful, and the jars are durable. They arrived carefully packed and not one of them was broken or cracked. I poured hot marmalade into 6 of them, and then boiled them for 15-20 minutes; again, no cracking, no accidents, they sealed perfectly. When I bought them, they were also inexpensive (I see now that's no longer the case), so all in all it was a great purchase.
