It has become nearly impossible to find glass sun tea jars anymore and I'm tired of the plastic ones slowly deforming in the dishwasher (even with heat dry off). I thought I'd found the "perfect jar" for making sun tea with a wide mouth as show in the picture. Alas and alack, the picture of the jar is in error and does not correctly represent the actual shape of this otherwise excellent glass jar. The mouth is much narrower than a person would believe by the picture.
I ordered my jar through Amazon to take advantage of Amazon Prime as well as the knowledge that Amazon would take care of the problem should any issues arise. The jar arrived well packaged and undamaged. The rubber gasket was inside the jar so as not to be lost.
The jar itself seems to be of excellent quality and has survived trips through the dishwasher and even a few light bangs and bumps. My only reason for deducting one star is that the picture does not truely represent the size of the opening which I had hoped would allow a large, mesh tea ball to be inserted, it does not.
So that nobody else should order this product expecting a wide-mouth jar, I will be contacting Amazon to notify them that the image is incorrect.
UPDATE 6/12/12
I came to upload a couple of pictures and found the jar image has been corrected but I'll upload images anyway. For those concerned about the size of the opening, the inside I.D. is 3 3/8 inches.
Something I forgot to include in my original review is as follows. The jar is great for making and storing sun tea but isn't something you would want to pour from. Make sure you pour over a sink to catch all the pour-back, dribbles and drips. I use the jar to make my tea but pour it into a gallon pitcher for serving. The jar is a little larger than a gallon so I go ahead and pour a glass or two when I make the transfer.

When looking at the picture shown of this "Bormioli Fido Clear Round Canning Jar 5 Lt." one sees a rather squat, low-profile glass canning jar with the mouth of the jar as wide as the diameter of the jar itself. The jar is depicted as being almost as wide as it is tall, and that was what I was expecting. What I got was a very tall 5 liter jar with a small mouth. The picture is very deceptive.

The pictured jar is a 1/2 L fido jar stock photo ... the actual 5L jar is very tall - round (not square) and looks nothing like this picture. As a wholesale fido jar distributor for many years - it is a shame when this happens on Amazon - most vendors here are very honest - and I believe this is a legitimate listing error.
1/19/2012 - ok.. they are trying - now they are picturing a 4L jar - the 5L is still not pictured - it is wider than the jar shown here.
